A lot of women underestimate the importance of using the correct skincare, but when it comes to your big day, getting your complexion looking healthy is just as important as getting your body in the right shape or finding the perfect dress. Prep your skin with the Clinique Even Better Skin Clinical Dark Spot Corrector. This is great for reducing pigmentation, which is a common concern amongst so many Asian women. Layer the Clinique Even Better Skin Tone Correcting Moisturiser SPF 20 on top, this is part of the same range as the serum and again, it contains ingredients to target discolouration. As with all skincare, don’t expect it to work overnight, you will need to use these products for at least four weeks, morning and night to notice a difference.

Spend time working the moisturiser into the face, this will boost radiance by increasing blood circulation and bringing fresh oxygen to the cells. Under the eyes, use the Clinique Even Better Eyes Dark Circle Corrector, which is designed to reduce dark circles. It comes with a cooling metal massage tip applicator that is great for tackling puffiness. To prepare the skin for make-up, use a primer .

Primers are good for smoothing out the skin – they fill in pores and reduce the look of fine lines. Use the Smashbox PhotofinishFoundation Primer Pore Minimizer – it sinks in quickly and is formulated with an oil absorbing powder – so it is ideal for oily skin or if you want to create a matte looking base. Also apply the Smashbox Photofinish Under Eye Primer – great to prime and smooth any fine lines’

Use the Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer Kit to camouflage the redness and blemishes around the nose and under the eyes. This kit includes a creamy concealer and setting powder to give a longer lasting finish. Then use the Tom Ford Traceless Perfecting Foundation – it has an easy to build formula, which you can use to create a light finish or add more if you need extra coverage. It has a light consistency, which is nice, as it won’t feel cakey on the skin. Now, to set the foundation, use the MAC Mineralize Skin Finish in Medium. This powder gives a natural matte finish and is perfect for touch-ups throughout the day.

The metallic gunmetal, silver smoky eye look was one of our favourite looks from the fall/ winter 2014 shows – it was seen on models at Donna Karen and you’ll see how striking it looks. Start by applying the Bobbi Brown Long Wear Eye Base in Medium – this will give the eyeshadow longer staying power. Now use the Tom Ford Eye Color Quad in Ice Queen – this palette contains four complementary shades in different textures – there’s a sparkly, satin, shimmery and matte, so you can create different intensities and effects. These colours will beautifully complement bridal dresses with silver, oxidised or clear diamante embroidery and it’s a great alternative to black. Next, use the Estée Lauder Stay in Place Gel Eyeliner in the shade Stay Onyx on the upper lash line. Applying liner here can make small eyes appear larger and will also add definition. This gel formula is ideal as you can build it up and smudge it in. Line the inner rims with Clinique Quickliner for Eyes Intense in Intense Charcoal – these pencils glide on ever so smoothly and offer a really strong finish. A good mascara is key to finishing off this smoky eye. The MAC In Extreme Dimension 3D Black Lash Mascara has a thick brush that is perfect for adding volume, length and curl. Finally, use the Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara, which has a tiny brush to perfect the lower lashes.

Strong, groomed eyebrows were everywhere at New York Fashion week and should be a priority for weddings - as nicely shaped brows will frame the entire face and make you look refined in pictures. The Smashbox Brow Tech Trio in Brunette has two powder shades – brush the lighter colour through the brows to fill in sparse areas and the darker shade to define the outer corners. Then use the wax to seal them in place.

Start by contouring the face. While foundation is great for evening out the skin, it can sometimes remove the natural contours of the face. This is where the Smashbox Step by Step Contour Kit comes in handy. Since we have gone for a bold eye – use a very subtle hint of colour on the cheeks with the Bobbi Brown Blush in Tawny - it has a soft, rosy matte finish.

Lips are naturally drier at this time of year, use the Crème de la Mer Lip Balm to soften, smooth and hydrate the lips. Now line the lips with MAC Lip Pencil in Wine. It’s important to line the lips, especially if you have a long day ahead - it will prevent the lipstick from bleeding and give you a more polished looking pout. Use the gorgeous velvety, matte textured, Tom Ford Lip Color in Black Dahlia – it really gives a bold and sultry finish to the lips and perfectly complements the smoky charcoal eyes. Its recently launched as a limited life lipstick as part of Tom Ford’s Holiday color collection, but it’s already had such amazing feedback that they are bringing it back permanently from April! If you prefer a gloss or a more subtle lip, try the Michael Kors Lip Luster in Icon.

Pay as much attention to caring for your hair as you do for your skin – the process should start at least a year to six months before the wedding day. If you don’t have time for monthly salon visits for deep conditioning treatments, invest in good quality hair care to use at home. We recommend the Aveda Invati range – it’s made with Ayurvedic herbs like turmeric and ginseng.

If you’re growing your hair or simply want it to look thicker, try the Aveda Invati Scalp Revitalizer, to prevent hair fall. Use this twice a day – just lift hair in sections and spray directly onto scalp. For washing, try the Aveda Invati Exfoliating Shampoo – it is great for removing build up that can clog the hair follicles on the scalp. Then finish with Aveda Invati Thickening Conditioner.

Moving onto the hairstyle, we are going for a classic up-do. Start by tonging the hair to add texture but before you do this, use the Ojon Leave in Pre Heat Styler – this contains seven types of oils to hydrate and condition the hair and it protects against the drying effects of heat styling. To finish, use the Aveda Control Force Spray, this one protects against humidity and offers long-lasting hold. The hair styling was achieved using the Aveda Paddle Brush.

Don’t neglect the skin on your body, especially during the winter months when it can appear drier. Use this lovely Jo Malone London English Pear & Freesia Body & Hand Wash in the shower – it has a sensuous and fresh aroma and will leave skin refreshed, conditioned and deliciously scented. If you’re wearing a sleeveless, backless or tummy revealing dress, smother your body with the luxuriously rich Jo Malone London Wild Bluebell Body Crème – it’s extremely hydrating and leaves your body scented all over. Then, to finish, spritz on the voluptuous Jo Malone London Peony & Blush Suede Cologne - this contains notes of peonies in bloom, jasmine and rose; can be worn day or night. As the make-up look is bold, we recommend a chic nude shade on the nails, like this Michael Kors Nail Lacquer in Hint.
