Fretting about your hot date night for Valentine's Day? Not to worry - our beauty blogger Trusha of Secret Style File has come up with a sultry glamorous look, complete with a pop of rouge on the lips, creating the perfect look for your Valentine's date night. Just don't forget to keep your red lipstick in your handbag to top up the colour as the night wears on...*wink wink*

The Base
I always say that with all make-up looks the base is always important, it is essential to use a good primer that minimises pores and creates a silky canvas for make-up application. For this look I used the NARS Pore minimising Primer, it feels so lightweight and creates a lovely canvas for make-up application. For a nice lightweight but flawless look which still looks so natural I then used the NARS Luminous All Day Weightless Foundation.

The Eyes
As always, priming the eyes is a must and I love the matte base the MAC Paint Pot in Soft Ochre gives. For this looks I am using the new Urban Decay Gwen Steffani palette and for the blending shade in the crease I used the shade Zone. I then used the shade Anaheim from the same palette which has a grey undertone and worked that into my crease as well, always concentrating more on the outer crease. For a neutral and simple shade I used Stark all over my lid. To give the eyes some added definition I used the shade Punk in my outer crease, which has a brick red undertone to it but is essentially a dark brown. To highlight the inner corners of my eyes I used the shade Bathwater which has a slight shimmer but really highlights the look well. I then used the shade Skimp to highlight my browbone.

To create a feline flick I used the very easy to use Black Magic Pen from Eyeko and then used some Maybelline Lasting Gel Liner in my waterline. I used brown to add definition without too much drama.

To highlight and conceal under my eyes I used the MAC Prolongwear Concealer with my fingers in an upside down triangle and then used a mini beauty blender to blend, to avoid creasing I immediately used a regular beauty blender and applied powder straight to the area I just highlighted. I then went onto finish the eyes by adding the NARS Velvet shadow pencil in Goddess along my lower lash line and then used the shade Punk along my lower lash line going from the outer corner of my eyes towards the centre but not right in my inner corner. For the inner corner towards the centre I used the shade Baby just to give a little hint of shimmer to make the eyes ‘pop’.

To finish off the eyes and give some false lash flutter I used the new Maybelline Falsies Push Up Mascara

Set your Make-up
To take away excess shine and most importantly to set your make-up use a lightweight powder. I used the POREfessional Agent Zero Shine, you can just use this on your T-zone and anywhere you tend to get shiny.

Finishing Touches
When wearing I bold red lip I prefer to use a coral or rose blush so I chose the NYX Blush in Desert Rose and used the The Balm Mary-lou-maniser above my cheekbones. For my red bold lips I used Rita from the NARS Audacious Lips collection. To set the entire look I used the NYX Matte Setting Spray all over my face.

Stay tuned for more make-up looks from my Colour Series and don’t forget to check out my Wedding guest tutorials..x
