Shan Khan's new movie looks at the disturbing world of honour killings
Powerful and gripping, Honour (directed by Shan Khan) is a dark thriller about the disturbing world of Honour killings. Set in London, the story centres on Mona (Aisha Hart) who goes on the run after a failed attempt at her own honour killing by her family. But she’s not safe for long - a bounty hunter (Paddy Considine) is hired to track her down. The film boasts strong supporting performances from Harvey Virdi (East is East and Bend It Like Beckham) and upcoming UK talent Nikesh Patel (Jadoo and Bedlam), Shubham Saraf and Faraz Ayub. Tackling an issue not yet touched upon in British Asian cinema the film has an unexpected twist and as you would expect from a good thriller, keeps you hanging on to your seats!
A special gala charity screening of the movie takes place on Monday 31st March, 6.30pm at The Mayfair Hotel in London in support of Karma Nirvana, a charity which supports victims of honour crimes and forced marriage and The Hemraj Goyal Foundation and celebrity guests who will be in attendance include Meera Syal, Sanjeev Bhasker and Indira Varma.
