Indian and Arab talent celebrate together
Dubai has long been a favourite for Bollywood, with countless scenes shot there, the most recent being the huge commercial hit Happy New Year, which was shot almost entirely in the glamorous city, as well as our favourite stars often seen lapping up the luxury on offer in Dubai. For the first time, Arab and Indian talent collaborated at the Indo-Arab awards hosted by Karan Johar and held at the Meydan Racecourse in Dubai, with some of the biggest names of both respective industries gracing the 'golden' carpet with their presence, including Shraddha Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Kanika Kapoor, Parineeti Chopra, Ranveer Singh and Anushka Sharma. Causing yet another stir of controversy was Salman Khan who was also in attendance, after he was granted bail following his conviction of killing a homeless man in a hit and run incident. Not only was he given permission to attend the awards, he was also seen strutting his stuff on stage in a grand performance, along with Priyanka Chopra and Jacqueline Fernandez. Amongst the winners were Priyanka Chopra and Kangana Ranaut for Best Actress in Mary Kom and Queen, whilst Shahid Kapoor bagged the Best Actor award for his role in Haider.
