241 Ticket offers for the BFI's season of romance

Bring tissues! This winter it's the season to get sentimental with over 1000 screenings about the 'L word' showing in over 100 cinemas across the UK as part of the BFI's Love Season. Celebrates the power of romance on the big screen with over two months of unique events and screenings of 'film to make you fall in love and films to break your heart.' There are three key themes in the season: The Power of Love presents epic tales that show the struggle to hold on to tenderness, and each other; Fools For Love offers romantic comedies filled with warmth, wit, charm and poignancy; and Fatal Attractions expose the follies of desire, the violence of passion, and the intensity of obsession.

In London, the line up includes special screenings of Mani Ratnam's Bombay and his most recent film OK Kanmani, Deepa Mehta's Fire, Guru Dutt's Pyaasa, a 30th anniversary screening of My Beautiful Launderette, the classic 1980s movie about multi-cultural love, based on the book by Hanif Kureshi, and a special talk called Race and Romance on TV with a panel of guests including Director Gurinder Chadha.

Across the UK the romance continues with special events including a re-issue of the epic film Dr Zhivago to celebrate its 50th anniversary, the 70th anniversary of Brief Encounter and film events in unusual venues such as The Brighton Pavilion, pop-ups and even screenings in a swimming pool. From momentous movies life Four Wedding & A Funeral to internationally renowned works like In The Mood For Love; there are films that will appeal to everyone, whether they admit to enjoying romances or not!
