Hear exclusive new tracks from the musical genius at his forthcoming London show

Posted: 18.09.14

Quantum DJ, multi-instrumentalist, composer, producer, orchestral conductor and all around musical multi-tasker extraordinaire Nitin Sawhney, returns to the stage this Sunday September 21st to perform at the prestigious Royal Albert Hall. A must-attend show for all his fans, the set features the best of his work from his first ten albums and will also be the first time he presents tracks from his forthcoming album Dystopian Dream, which was created following a series of personal losses, and the global turmoil of the last few years.

Although more blues orientated than previous work, Dystopian Dream sees Nitin returning to the darker, broodier, emotive sounds of his earlier albums, where he is well known for cultivating a unique identity forged by Eastern and Western classical music, flamenco, trip hop, drum n bass and dubstep. Undoubtedly set to be a unique night of musical genius on display, the show will see Nitin perform with some of his favourite musicians including the vocal talents of Ashwin Srinivasan, Tina Grace, Nicki Wells and Rahel Debebe-Dessalegne. Revered tabla and dholak player Aref Durvesh and cellists Ian Burdge and Danny Keane. He will also feature guest appearances from the likes of Alan Thomson (slide guitar), Soumik Datta (sarod) and Manu Delago (hang drums).

Nitin; one of the most distinctive and versatile musical voices alive today has received a MOBO, 2 Ivor Novello nominations, a Mercury prize nomination, a Southbank show award, a BAFTA nomination, 2 BBC Radio 3 world music awards , a New York Bessie and 15 other major national and international awards. Sawhney also holds seven honorary doctorates from seven separate British universities and is a fellow of LIPA and Southbank University. Seeing him live is an honour and an experience, one we guarantee you will remember for a long time to come.

Nitin Sawhney tickets are on sale now and priced at £22.50 / £27.50 / £30.00 / £32.50 / £44.00 / £45.00 (subject to per-ticket charge plus order processing fee) and are available from www.livenation.co.uk or www.ticketmaster.co.uk
