Dubai hosts HUM TV’s 3rd Annual Awards

HUM TV hosted its 3rd annual awards ceremony outside of Pakistan for the first time, presented in Dubai at the World Trade Centre. The Pakistani channel has gained significant popularity across the globe, becoming a favourite amongst international audiences, thanks to the high quality and sophisticated dramas hosted on HUM TV. The event was a platform that showcased and celebrated Pakistani talent, with the biggest stars of the entertainment industry in attendance. Hosted by Hamza Ali Abbasi, Morning Show host Sanam Jang and comical duo Ali Butt and Wasay Chaudhry, the audience were kept lively and amused throughout the night.

Actor Adnan Malik and Sanam Saeed interacted with their fans on the Red Carpet while Maloon Afraad’s Anoushey Ashraf and Mohsin Abbasi also hosted and kept the audience entertained. Hit television drama Sadqay Tumhare was presented with all the major awards, including Best Drama, Best Actress and Best On Screen Couple alongside four other chief awards.

A line-up of power packed dance performances by stars Ahsan Khan, Saba Qamar, Mehwish Hayat, Sajjal Ali and Shehroze and Syra Sabzwari was highlighted by a surprise performance by Indian singer Sunidhi Chauhan. She left the audience captivated as she performed some of her hit songs, and finished off with a Pakistani number.

The audience also got a first look at Momina Duraid’s film, Bin Roye starring veteran talent Humayun Saeed and Mahira Khan. Another highlight of the night was a video montage to celebrate Fawad Khan’s journey and achievements as he received a special recognition prize of International Icon Award.

Special praises and tributes were also made to Sufi Queen, legendary Abida Parveen and Sameena Peerzada for contributing to the Pakistani Entertainment Industry. They received honours as Abida Parveen was presented Excellence in Music award and Sameena Peerzada received the Excellence in Television award, which appreciated her contribution to the industry for over 30 years in countless television dramas.

Owing to their credible performances on dramas onscreen, Pakistani talent has been vastly appreciated in Bollywood, with Fawad Khan starred in a Disney production, Khoobsurat alongside Sonam Kapoor, whilst Mahira Khan will appear opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Raees later this year.
