ABS Birmingham 2014: Khushboo's By Chand

Decadent black becomes the new red

Posted: 11.12.14

Black is back with a stylish vengeance, as Khushboo's By Chand successfully broadened the bridal colour spectrum by making it the focal colour for each of his outfits, making any doubtful bride embrace majestic black. Complemented by contrasting gold, Chand's latest collection resembled the trousseau of a desert royal, all embossed with gold and black decorum. Despite the coal and gilt colour theme and popular textures of velvet and silks with net dupattas finished with delicate borders, the varying styles and designs were startlingly inspiring. Necklines ranged from V and heart-shaped to high-necked and collared, accompanied by long, fully embellished open jackets and tops over plain lenghas perfected with thick borders, whilst long dresses and plain tops consorted heavily embroidered monumental skirts. Some alternative fashions were also implemented, including a sophisticated trouser suit with long open top, along with a more classical style lengha outfit.
