ABS Birmingham 2014: Sache Menswear by Asif

Avant-garde sherwanis in exubérant colours

Posted: 16.12.14

Resonating a visage from the Arabian Nights, Sache by Asif's luxurious groomswear was befitting of Aladdin himself, with each ensemble finished to rich and splendid perfection. If you thought Shah Rukh Khan made the lungi look cool in the Lungi Dance song, Asif's experimental innovation worked impressive wonders as he merged the authentic lungi/dhoti with the sherwani, in lustrous gleaming gold, classic black and vibrant fuchsia, each with a defining ornate border. Traditional pajamas were also showcased for the less bold. Edgy, statement sherwani jackets made from two-toned, shimmering textures, featured an assortment of designs including eye-catching damask, swirls and block prints which added to the prevalent high-fashion flair. A diverse colour palette of contrasting blue with red, gold with maroon, purple with fuchsia and decadent black were embellished with intricate details of matching buttons, embroidered collars and cuffs, creating inspiring masterpieces.
