Bollywood’s crème de la crème came out in all their finery to celebrate Shahid Kapoor’s wedding
B-town’s heartthrob Shahid Kapoor broke millions of hearts when he married the love of his life Mira Rajput last week in an intimate affair. It is of course inevitable that one of the biggest stars in the Indian film industry hosted a lavish wedding reception, where all eyes would be on his famous guestlist. Held at the 5-star Palladium Hotel in Mumbai, the stars did indeed come out to shine, each flaunting their fashionable finesse in absolute glory. Without a doubt, the loved-up stars of the show were the gorgeous couple themselves, with the groom looking superbly dapper in a slick black tuxedo and bow tie, with a stylish slicked back hairdo, hand in hand with his naturally stunning new bride wearing a lehengha from Manish Malhotra’s latest collection, in his current signature look of blue and white, looking the epitome of elegance, with sparkling diamonds by Nirav Modi.
The ultimate diva of couture Sonam Kapoor nailed the look of sheer class in an Anuradha Vakil anarkali ensemble, in a rich palette of peacock green and purple/blue. Shahid’s upcoming Shaandaar co-star Alia Bhatt graced the night with her pretty presence in a contemporary Manish Malhotra blue lehenga made from a questionable crinkle material, with a loose fitting white top, with no accessories to finish the look. I’m not quite sure what look Alia was going for. If you’re invited to one of the biggest weddings of the year, is that the best she could come up with?! Disappointed! Fashion star Kangana Ranaut looked pretty in pink, draped in a scintillating sari.
One of the newer kids on the block, Kriti Sanon looked exceptionally chic in a gold Sonaakshi Raaj dhoti-gown, setting herself apart from the rest. Genelia D’Souza looked pretty in a pastel mint green outfit by Shyamal & Bhumika. Shahid's Haider co-star Shraddha Kapoor showed off her perfect figure in a contemporary grey and peach gown/anarkali dress. Of the older crowd, Nach Baliye judge Preity Zinta wore a fuchsia pink sari by Manish Malhotra, a look she is seen in quite often, which very much suits her. The beautiful Dia Mirza looked impeccable as always in a peach Anita Dongre anarkali. No surprises that the India’s favourite designer Manish Malhotra ruled the night as always! Other prolific names present were Amitabh Bachchan, Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor, Anil Kapoor amongst many others.
