Designers of some of the most exquisite jewellery created in India and celebrity fashioinistas are in Mumbai for the highly-anticipated annual India International Jewellery Week. The event takes place from August 19th-23rd at the Grand Hyatt and is the third so far.

Leading fashion houses and jewellery designers are given the opportunity to showcase their stunning collections to the world. There's also a chance for new talent and smaller businesses to get involved offering them exposure on a scale they are usually excluded from.

Stars spotted at the event include Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor, Juhi Chawla and Dia Mirza. One of the most stand out catwalk shows so far has been Neha Lulla's debut collection. Called Tara Jauhar (pictured) which means A Star’s Jewels it has received the biggest buzz. The couture line features elegant and chic pieces from coordinated diamond sets with big stones around the neck to tasselled tear drop earrings. Rubies, pearls and emeralds were the key jewels to look out for, teamed with shimmering diamonds, adding a regal touch to the overall look.
Designer Tanvi Garg also made a show-stopping impression with her collection, which focused heavily on silver and semi-precious stones. Her unique designs incorporated unusual materials such as wood and thread.
Audiences were also impressed by Anmol Jewellers, whose range featured both male and female pieces including ruby and diamond brooches.

Teardrop motifs have been a recurrent theme in most collections proving that traditional looks continue to be timeless.
