Bollywood gets ready for Spring with pastels and ivories

Posted: 04.03.15

One of the reasons why we look forward to watching Indian movies is because we want to see what outfits they where. We get our ethnic inspiration from the glamorous designs donned by gorgeous heroines. But what we look forward to even more is finding out what our favourite B-town starlets wear to the super lavish weddings they attend. One such event was singer Tulsi Kumar's wedding, where the biggest names in the industry attended, including the Bachchan's, Sridevi, Sonakshi Sinha, Shraddha Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez, Varun Dhawan, Karan Johar to name a few. It seems that with Spring around the corner, the glamour pusses of Bombay have taken a refreshing turn towards a colour palette of graceful pastel shades and ivories.

It is no surprise that the most famous Indian designer, Manish Malhotra has pretty much taken over the fashion world in India, with the creme de la creme all opting to wear his outfits. This grand affair was no different, since classic beauty Sridevi dazzled in a sophisticated light golden sari and Shraddha Kapoor looked pretty in a blush pink anarkali dress - both designed by Manish.

Sonakshi went for a pale turquoise mirror lengha, embellished in mirror-work, whilst Jacqueline shone in a white lehngha choli by Arpita Mehta, with a dainty touch of purple adornments. The sultry Bipasha Basu also remained consistent with the seasonal theme, looking regal in an ivory-gold anarkali by Preeti S Kapoor.

Sunny Leone pleasantly surprised all by actually wearing clothes for a change, proving she can look good in respectable traditional attire on too! She was transformed from baby doll babe to a true filmi beauty queen in a peachy pink lengha choli ensemble. Spring has definitely arrived!
