We give you a roundup of the most fashionable week in India
The most glamorous week showcasing Indian fashion at its absolute finest, drew to a close over the weekend, with an appropriately lavish grand finale. Showcasing her unique collection was Anamika Khanna, which highlighted the stark contrast with black and white. Amidst an opulent backdrop of a majestic staircase, there was an otherworldly aura created by a bold battle of mysterious vs angelic spirits. The final spectacle was reminiscent of the Roman or Greek ages, with the fine topless male species in black dhotis, whilst the virginal looking deities were stylishly draped in reams of cloth, along with royal headpieces. The most stunning of them all was indeed the showstopper Kareena Kapoor Khan, who wowed in a heavily embroidered black and white ensemble, shining amongst the rest.
Other Bollywood beauties in graceful attendance were Deepika Padukone , Jacqueline Fernandez and Sonakshi Sinha. Other highlights worth mentioning from the prolific week of refined designs included Anushree Reddy, whose dainty floral ghaghras, with 'bomber' zip up tops in pretty pastel hues stole the show, with the help of Kanika Kapoor's melodious serenading, along with Ileana D'Cruz as the gorgeous showstopper.
International belle, Nargis Fakhri demonstrated her versatility whilst sashaying an illustriously traditional red and gold lengha outfit, celebrating the art and colour of India by Suneet Varma, as well as embracing her fun and quirky character by prancing along the catwalk for Masaba Gupta, in a bright and playful colour palette, in consistency with the sweet and fun theme of 'Sugar Plum'.
