Paris Fashion Week 2015: Manish Arora

India represents on world fashion stage

Posted: 06.03.15

Contemporary Indian designer Manish Arora showcased his Autumn-Winter 2015/2016 collection at Paris Fashion Week. His signature style is vibrant, avant-garde, with a rainbow splash of colours interwoven amidst a fusional tapestry of design, inspired by his Indian heritage, with lashings of his own unique style, very apt for the high fashion society. The interesting garbs displayed on the international catwalk resembled a scene from Game Of Thrones, albeit a much more glamorised version, with each model transformed into warrior princesses. The edgy spiked and chained facial and head accessories was a cross between a tribal look and war-ready armour, but amidst all the defensive metal and offensive pointy detail, the image was balanced out and softened with the help of feathers, fur and animal imagery. Marching down the runway, the tribal queens could easily have shouted out 'Sparta!' and conquered the Spartans at war, with their elaborately embellished and patterned, shielded glad-rags and glamorous weaponry, which included the recurrent theme of skull handbags in variations of colours, bejewelled with glittering gems and sequins. If only more Bollywood actresses dared to don a Manish Arora outfit, perhaps then his colourful and bold conceptions would inspire more Asian women worldwide to stand out from the crowd and be their own beautiful.
