The crème de la crème of Pakistani bridal couture came out to shine
When it comes to fashion weeks, it seems that India is hosting one every other week (not that we’re complaining!). But when Pakistan holds a fashion week, we can’t help but get a little excited in anticipation of such an exclusive event and this glamorous affair certainly did not fail to impress much to our delight. PFDC (Pakistan Fashion Design Council) L’Oreal Bridal Week (PLBW) 2015 completely blew us away by the range of creative calibre displayed. The aim of this sartorial extravaganza is to showcase the talent of Pakistani fashion at its finest, featuring top designers including Nomi Ansari, HSY, Sana Safinaz, Ali Xeeshan, Sania Mastakiya, Ammara Khan and so many more.
This fashion fest provided a global platform, creating a grand spectacle of sheer finesse, quality and innovation, capturing a similar essence of India’s finest fashion weeks, and perhaps even surpassing some. Pakistani couture is somewhat underrated and not given the credit and recognition it deserves, which is why we are thrilled at the feast for the eyes witnessed.
Ali Xeeshan lived up to his usual wacky expectations, which can only be defined as hyperboles, complete with sumptuous lenghas and avant garde headpieces of royal dynasty proportions. We have seen many a desi bride and groom, but never a Mickey and Minnie Mouse couple dressed in desi shaadi attire, which no doubt stole the show! Nomi Ansari’s eclectic collection should have been named 50 shades of rainbow, as we absolutely adored the bright and colourful lenghas, adorned with vibrant and quirky shapes and patterns.
Celebs also got involved in the catwalk indulgence, with the likes of actor Humayun Saeed, Mehwish Hayat and supermodel Mehreen Syed as showstoppers. Hotties like Fawad Khan were also spotted in the audience to celebrate and support the utter brilliance of Pakistani fashion.
