I’m Having A Baby! Part 4

Our pregnancy blogger San keeps busy by learning a new skill

Posted: 08.02.13

As I’m not working through my pregnancy, to take my mind off all things bump related and to prevent me from going stir crazy, I decided to enrol on some make-up and beauty courses at the London College of Fashion. I’ve always had an interest in make-up and beauty but never had the time to explore it, now seemed the perfect time to look into it.
I’ve enrolled on three evening courses: Introduction to Beauty and Make-Up, Bridal Make-Up and Fashion and Editorial Make-Up, all which help keep me busy and take my mind off the symptoms.

The campus is local to me so I don’t have to worry about being sick on the journey to and from the venue.
Each week I learn about a new look and this season's make-up trends. I get to explore different products; colours and equipment which helps me grow more confident in my ability to apply make-up, as well as making new friends.

I’m not sure what to do once I finish these courses in March - do I try my hand at building my own business or intern part-time with an agency to gain more experience? Just how easy will it be to venture down a new career path once I have my baby in a few months time? I’m not sure of the outcome but I’m glad I tried something new and hope that I’m able to apply my skills in the make-up industry one day.
If like me you’re trying to keep your mind off the symptoms and have some spare cash lying around, take some time out to research classes or courses in your local area - it's a great way to keep busy!

The past few months have been a trying experience as more symptoms of my pregnancy are starting to kick in so to help keep me relaxed during my pregnancy I’ve started using some products by Boo Boo. I’m currently trying out the Splendidly Soothing Bath Soak, Super Stretchy Miracle Oil and the Soft and Creamy Body Smoother which is part of the ‘Congratulations Mummy Kit’ which RRPS at £36.99, although my husband seems to be enjoying them too!

Although I don’t have any stretch marks at the moment, the products are great for keeping my skin soft and hydrated, and they smell great too.
If you’re interested in trying these out or buying as a pressie for a pregnant friend, visit www.boobooshop.com.
