Preeya Lands Opera Lead

Preeya Kalidas has long said she prefers singing to acting but that hasn’t stopped her becoming one of the most famous Asian women on British TV. Since she appeared on stage in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Bombay Dreams back in 2002, she’s released several singles and won numerous awards.
Next month she takes on one of her biggest challenges yet, performing the lead in her first ever live opera, a Bollywood adaptation of Carmen.
Starring along side her are Chelsee Healy from Waterloo Road, Rachel Leskovak from Coronation Street and
Emmerdale's Stephen Rahman-Hughes.
The performance will take place in Bradford City Centre on June 9th and will be broadcast simultaneously on BBC 3 as part of the continuing 100 years of Bollywood celebrations.
