Restaurant cook in critical condition
A talented chef from one of the North West's most prestigious restaurants was attacked in an unprovoked incident, shortly after closing up. Farhad Ghassemi, who should be celebrating his 33rd birthday is the second head chef at the Ramsons Restaurant in Ramsbottom, Bury is in intensive care after he was punched to the ground and kicked in the head, last Friday shortly after 11pm.
Farhad, was with his girlfriend's teenage son when the assault took place. A gang of men crowded around his car as it was stuck in traffic lights and started banging the windows. Farhad stepped out of the car and was then attacked and left bleeding on the road before they fled.
Farhad was taken to Hope Hospital in Salford where he under went surgery for a bleeding brain.
So far four men in their 20s have been arrested in connection with the incident.
Farhad's girlfriend is a head chef at Ramson's sister restaurant The Hideaway - Ramson's was last year crowned Restaurant of Ther Year at Manchester Food and Drink Festival.
