The Skyline Afternoon Tea at Radio Rooftop Bar is all about having your head in the clouds, with a cup of tea in your hand and a delightful treat in your mouth…

The end of Summer may be nigh, but while Londoners are squeezing out the last few remnants of sunshine, the rooftop spaces of the capitol are still teeming with sun worshippers. One such hidden gem is Radio Rooftop Bar, discreetly hidden atop of luxurious ME London Hotel, where you can only be whisked away to the top floor by a long legged, model-esque lass strictly by reservations, such is its popularity. This, without a doubt, makes you feel super VIP, as you fashionably breeze past the folk who may have stumbled across this uber cool spot by chance, and are turned away due to no reservations.

It’s in-demand status is no surprise as your ears pop and you get to the top, a swanky and chic lounge/bar awaits, with some groovy apt tunes playing in the background and a very swish crowd to match the atmosphere. The vast outdoor expanse lures you to awe-inspiring views of London, where you can play spot-your-favourite-London-landmark, including The Shard, Big Ben, St Paul’s Cathedral and London Eye to name a few.

But this isn’t just any ol’ bar or lounge with amazing sights to behold, oh no. The real treat is the recently introduced enviable The Skyline Afternoon Tea menu, perfect for a casual hang out with friends, a hen party or date. Although you can expect the quintessential ingredients of an English afternoon tea such as scrumptious scones with clotted cream and jam, along with an impressive range of traditional and exotic teas, the delectable delights served have a sumptuous contemporary and international twist.

To give your tastebuds a whirl and your eyes a tantalising feast, the assorted sandwiches include varieties like croque monsieur and a surprisingly delicious watermelon, feta and black olive tapenade, along with more classic flavours like egg mayo. The palate cleansing liquid nitro fruit salad, with Earl Grey mousse, topped with popping candy, is a futuristic and eye bogglingly gorgeous Willy Wonka style treat, taking your senses on a rollercoaster ride. It wouldn’t be a rooftop bar without an alluring selection of drinks, so add some champagne, rather splendid cocktails or mocktails, if you will.

Although you may be too full for desserts, you’ll soon magically grow an extra stomach when you see the decadent tower of picture-perfect pastries, including such joys as lemon meringue, cheesecakes, along with other cakes and tarts featuring exotic tangs of passion fruit, lemongrass, pistachio and other delights.

Fear not, if your belly can’t handle all of that yumminess, you can take the leftovers home in a goody bag. But make sure you hide it in the deepest chamber of your fridge, because you definitely won’t want to be sharing these with anyone other than your greedy demons.

Skyline Afternoon Tea with tea or coffee is £45 per person, with Champagne afternoon tea priced at £55 per person and £60 per person for Rose Champagne.

Reservations can be made via or +44 (0)2073953440.
