A Riverside Retreat at Park Hyatt London River Thames
A stylish escape for a memorable first night
For couples in search of a chic, yet intimate retreat after the excitement of the wedding day, the newly opened Park Hyatt London River Thames offers a haven of luxury and serenity. As London’s first Park Hyatt property, it brings the brand’s signature understated elegance to a prime riverside setting, in the heart of Nine Elms.
Step inside and the hotel’s design-led interiors immediately set the tone. Art can be admired everywhere, creating a space that feels as much like a gallery as a five-star retreat. The lobby makes a striking first impression, with Charlie Whinney’s golden ‘Ebb and Flow’ suspended from the ceiling in a nod to the Thames, while Ian Rayer-Smith’s ‘Land and Water’ in the lounge invites a moment of quiet reflection.
Whether you’re taking in the views from a stylish suite, unwinding in the spa or toasting to new beginnings in the wine library, Park Hyatt London River Thames sets the scene for a romantic escape – with impeccable service to match.

THE ROOMS

THE SPA
After the adrenaline rush of the wedding, a little restoration is sure to be in order and this is certainly the right place. The wellness floor is one of the most expansive in the city; featuring a 20 by 8 metre indoor pool, a state-of-the-art fitness centre, sauna facilities and six treatment rooms, where you can enjoy heavenly massages using Dutch luxury wellness brand – The Tides, along with Ling skincare for facials. For the ultimate reset, we highly recommend booking a session in the Somadome meditation pods, where light, sound and guided meditation combine to bring a sense of calm after the excitement of the big day.

DINING
The Nine Elms Kitchen & Terrace, located on the ground floor, is a bright, open space where the theatre of the open kitchen adds to the experience. The menu takes inspiration from London’s global food scene – an approach that, at first glance, feels ambitious, but ultimately delivers. We started with the divine mini lobster rolls topped with pickled kohlrabi and a plate of perfectly charred chicken satay before moving on to the lamb rump and spring chicken, the latter paired with a creamy romesco sauce that had us planning a return visit before dessert had even arrived. The friendly, attentive staff are also worth a mention. For pre or post-dinner drinks, The Nine Elms Bar & Lounge offers a chic, low-lit setting with a carefully-curated cocktail list that nods to the city’s heritage. Meanwhile, the Tamisé Wine Library and Tea Lounge, with its waterfront views, is perfect for lingering over rare wines or indulging in an afternoon tea. The hotel’s signature Cantonese restaurant, Yu Ge, is the place for refined Chinese dining, offering both à la carte options and tasting menus (starting at £98 per person). Standout dishes include wok-fried lobster and the richly-flavoured Claypot San Pei Chicken – each plate as sophisticated as the setting itself.

WHAT TO DO NEARBY
If you can tear yourself away from the comfort of the hotel, the Nine Elms district has plenty to explore. Just a short stroll away is Battersea Power Station, home to a curated mix of boutiques, restaurants and bars. Remedi London is the perfect spot for wellness enthusiasts, where you can book in for a couples’ cryotherapy session or red light therapy. A little further along the river, Tower Bridge, St. Paul’s Cathedral and the vibrant South Bank are all within easy reach.
