Elmore Estate

Discover the charm of the English countryside in the Cotswolds at the ultimate rural wedding retreat

There is no shortage of elegant, desirable wedding venues in the UK, but Elmore Estate hits differently. A historic house and garden overlooking the Cotswold hills and nestled in a bend of the River Severn in Gloucestershire, it combines the quintessential grandeur of a country manor with a contemporary entertainment space along with an unexpected wild quarter which feels like an escape deep into nature.

Elmore’s main ‘court’ house dates back to the 1580s, yet the estate has been home to the Guise family since 1274. Remarkably, the family continues to live here today, welcoming couples into a home that has celebrated centuries of love stories and new beginnings.

Introducing the spaces at Elmore Estate

The Main Hall

Steeped in history, the Main Hall provides an elegant setting for your wedding ceremony. Having hosted many Asian weddings over the years, the experienced in-house wedding team understands the importance of cultural traditions so will ensure your dream vision comes to life.

The estate’s sweeping driveway creates the perfect setting for a vibrant baraat, allowing guests to take in the beauty of the grounds before the celebrations begin. Ceremonies are typically held in the historic Main Hall. During the summer months couples can also choose from four stunning outdoor ceremony spaces. With exclusive hire of the estate, there’s complete flexibility to adapt your plans should the weather change. If you do choose to be inside, the Hall’s soaring ceilings create a spectacular backdrop for a traditional phoolon ki chadar, making for a magical bridal entrance.

The main house also offers a selection of versatile spaces for celebrations across your wedding festivities. The Coach House is a popular choice for pre-wedding gatherings, including intimate mehndi celebrations, while the elegant Drawing Room benefits from a 24-hour drinks licence, making it the perfect place for guests staying overnight to continue the revelries into the night.

The Gillyflower

Purpose-built for parties, The Gillyflower is Elmore Estate’s contemporary, soundproof entertainment space. Separate from the main house, it allows your celebrations to continue late into the evening. It’s licensed until midnight but you don’t need to wait until the evening to enjoy the space as it’s an ideal spot for your wedding breakfast with a dining room for up to 200 guests, a bar and a dancefloor.

A professional PA system and LED lighting are in place and there are doors that open onto the gardens which have a fire pit, giving guests a chance to step outside and enjoy the countryside whatever the season.

For a memorable finale, Elmore Estate permits fireworks before 10pm, providing the perfect ending to your celebrations.

Elmore Wild

Nature is woven into every part of life at Elmore Estate, and the surrounding landscape is as much a part of the experience as the historic house itself. Couples can embrace the outdoors by hosting drinks receptions, garden celebrations or simply taking advantage of the spectacular scenery for their wedding photography.

For guests seeking something a little different, Elmore Wild offers six luxurious treehouses nestled within the estate. Each features its own private boardwalk, outdoor fire pit and outdoor copper bath, creating a memorable countryside escape with a touch of adventure.

For those preferring more traditional accommodation, the main house can host up to 39 overnight guests, allowing family and friends to extend the celebrations and enjoy the estate as part of their own romantic rural retreat.
