Beauty Solution 2026
Your bridal beauty dilemmas solved by Anjana Gosai

What can I do to make my skin brighter and reduce some pigmentation I have?
If you’ve got around six months before your wedding, there’s plenty you can do about texture and dark spots. Start by seeing a dermatologist or facialist rather than jumping straight into products. I really rate facialist Kate Kerr (www.katekerrlondon.co.uk), based at Sea Containers in London. She starts with a thorough skin analysis before tailoring the treatment according to your needs and goals. She uses the ZO Skin Health range alongside the latest devices. She also creates an at-home plan for you to follow and checks in a few weeks later to discuss progress. I had a facial with her recently followed by a skin scan elsewhere and my hydration levels, pore size and pigmentation had improved – I am so pleased. If you don’t have time to see an expert, I’d recommend Revision Skincare Tone+ Correcting Pads (£52, revisionskincare.co.uk) which come drenched in brightening acids like tranexamoyl dipeptide-23 and kojic acid, both clinically proven to improve pigmentation. Follow with the Advanced Pigment Corrector+ (£150), which targets pigmentation at a deeper level to prevent it from returning.

Are there any sunscreen formulas that won’t leave a grey look or feel heavy under make-up?
Sunscreen formulation has moved on a lot, so if you’d written it off as sticky, greasy or leaving behind a grey cast, you will be impressed with the new generation of formulas. Brown skin might not burn as easily, but it’s every bit as vulnerable to skin cancer and premature ageing, so it’s important to find a formula you will stick with. I’ve enjoyed wearing Airyday Golden Glow SPF50+ Dreamscreen (£39, www.airyday.co.uk) during the summer. It has a sheer golden tint that sits beautifully on darker skin tones. Ultra Violette Fave Fluid Ultralight Skinscreen SPF50+ (£33) is super light and brightening, plus it stays put under make-up.

My hair is dry after the summer and I need to get it in better condition for my wedding day.
I tried the most incredible Head Spa treatment at Cloud Twelve (£245, www.cloudtwelve.co.uk). It includes 21 blissful steps, starting with a scalp analysis so the therapist can see exactly what your hair needs. Next comes a pampering session of serums, masks, LED therapy and a head massage. The ritual was developed by naturopath, herbalist and homeopath Jenya Di Pierro, and every product and technique is chosen to rebalance the scalp, aid hair growth and calm the nervous system. It left my hair super soft and shiny for days.

I want thicker, longer hair for my wedding functions, but my hair doesn’t grow quickly. Do you have any tips?
I would look into hair extensions from a professional. I had mine fitted at Haug London Haus (www.hauglondon.com), which involves two appointments. It starts with a colour match, where they blend shades to get a natural result. The salon uses the Great Lengths range, which it is ethically from India, so it blends beautifully well if you’re of Indian origin. The hair is attached using thin tapes and the quality is exceptional. The whole process takes around an hour, followed by a trim and a style. Mine lasted over ten weeks without slipping, and the tapes can be reused a few times, so you get your money’s worth. If you’d rather not commit to tapes, or just want extra length for the day, try Remi Cachet Clip-In extensions (www.remicachet.com). There’s no glue or salon appointment involved. The hair is excellent quality and clips straight into place, giving instant volume and length. These probably suit an updo or a stylist helping you on the day best, as they need blending to look natural. Of course, extensions are not a long-term solution. For hair health, I would recommend using Obagi Nu-Cil BioStim Scalp Serum (£125, www.skinstation.co.uk), which includes biotin, amino acids, peptides and 18 nutrients including caffeine, panthenol and niacinamide to nourish the scalp and strengthen hair from the root. It’s lightweight, absorbs quickly and in 24-week clinical trial, it increased hair volume by up to 52 per cent. I use it with Rhute Precision Dermastamp (£32, www.rhutehair.com) to increase absorption.

TRY IT: Glass skin remains the finish everyone is chasing, and this is an easy way to achieve it. Press a few drops of IUNIK Beta-Glucan Lacto Barrier Milk Essence (£13.08, superdrug.com) over make-up for a fresh, dewy finish. This milky Korean-made formula contains a fermented ingredients and peptides to help calm, hydrate and support the skin barrier.
