Q&A with Andria Vassiliou

Andria is an expert in helping brides prepare their skin for their Big Day. Here, she shares some of the questions she gets asked regularly by brides

Q: I suffer from skin pigmentation. Why does this happen and what can I do about it?

A: It saddens me that pigmentation has become such a problem. When I first began working in the industry pigmentation was only associated with older skin; a sign of ageing. Now, young people have skin pigmentation when they shouldn’t. One of the reasons is today’s lifestyle. There’s more pollution in the air and there are more beauty products that have harsh ingredients in them.

I regularly meet clients whose skin has been damaged by invasive treatments and all of these factors create pigmentation. Most clients like to have this treatment monthly. As there is no downtime, you can even have one done the day before your wedding. I strongly recommend avoiding treatments that recommend you stay out of the light after having them done; that’s a sign that they are harsh and damaging to skin and though they may give instant results, your skin will suffer later down the line.
