Her portfolio demonstrates how versatile the instrument is. She’s worked with some of the biggest names in music history including Lulu, Sir Elton John, Westlife and poet Benjamin Zephaniah, appeared on Top of the Pops and played with the renowned Bollywood composer duo Salim-Sulaiman during their UK concerts. She regularly works as a solo violinist with Michael Ball and performed at his Glow arena tour 2026. She’s also toured extensively with Jeff Wayne’s Musical Version of The War of the Worlds.

She’s also spent 16 years working in the Asian wedding industry. Firstly, as part of the duo Ashanti Strings and has spent the last 10 years as a solo artist, bringing with her a wealth of expertise. She says: “Whether I am playing for a drinks reception, a couple’s dramatic entrance with pyrotechnics and dry ice, or creating the atmosphere for a First Dance, the music becomes part of the magic of the day.”

A serenade to remember

What makes the violin so universal? “Bollywood melodies sit on the violin so naturally I have a repertoire of around 165 songs, alongside a wide range of Western pop music, so I can move between romantic, elegant, nostalgic, cinematic and high-energy styles which connects with everyone.”

Marsha has performed at weddings all over the world from Monte Carlo to India, Abu Dhabi and China and despite the language barriers, the soul of the music deeply touches people.

She believes being flexible is the secret: “I love interacting with guests. Older Bollywood songs often encourage people to sing along. At receptions I often move around the room sometimes sitting at a table and playing as though I am one of the guests, which creates a lovely, light-hearted moment. I always enjoy playing to children too, because they are often completely transfixed by the violin. For me, live music is communication without words. It’s about making people feel something.”
