Destination weddings have now become the norm with many couples choosing a more intimate, smaller affair abroad instead of a large-scale celebration at home. Guests love the opportunity to enjoy a holiday of their own while couples may want to honeymoon locally too.

We recently planned a special wedding for a couple who wanted to combine the colours and heritage of Rajasthan with the laid-back beach setting of Hawaii; and we helped them achieve this in Tenerife.

Each function had a specific theme: there was also a formal black-tie evening reception, and a Spanish-themed sangeet night and welcome dinner. These carefully curated themes added a special touch to the wedding celebrations and reflected the couple’s diverse backgrounds and preferences.

Memorable aspects included a magical baraat with a train from the venue, an after-party in a built-in nightclub, poolside games and DJ sessions, and various surprising elements within the resort that were all made possible due to the existing resort facilities. These unique and unexpected experiences added an extra layer of excitement and enjoyment to the wedding celebrations, creating lasting memories for the couple and their guests.

And of course, the food was a key part of the affair. Dishes varied from European Spanish and Mediterranean for the welcome dinner to Rajasthani Gujarati for the Mehndi, Indian Thai Lebanese for the evening reception, and classical Mughlai Indian for the evening cocktail reception. These diverse culinary offerings catered to the varied tastes of the guests and added to the overall experience of the wedding celebrations.
