Oldham Stabbing: Tributes Paid To Mother-of-six Tamby Dowling

The parents of a mother-of-six who was fatally stabbed have described her as “outgoing, kind-hearted and generous”

36-year-old Tamby Dowling was attacked on Water Mill Avenue in Oldham on Monday and pronounced dead at the scene.

A 16-year-old girl was also hurt during the incident and taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Shortly after the attack, a 36-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and detained under the Mental Health Act.

The mother of six was described as a “brilliant daughter” and “very good mother” by parents Mary Dowling and Keith Hawley.

In a tribute to their daughter, her family went on to say, “Tamby will leave a huge hole and massive impact on all the family. She touched the lives of countless people — the hole she has left will never be filled and our hearts are broken.”

“Her door was always open, her home was filled with visitors, and her kettle was always just boiled.”

“She leaves behind six devastated children who she adored. She leaves behind her devastated brothers, sisters, mother, father, stepdad, and stepmom. She had a large family, who are all heartbroken.”

Support has also poured in from other loved ones on social media, with an online fundraiser for the family already earning thousands in donations.

The GoFundMe page set up by the victims’ family expressed “Tamby was heartbreakingly taken away from her 6 children as a victim of domestic violence.”

“Tamby always put her children first, and we want to raise funds to ensure her children are taken care of, as well as any funeral costs.”

Charity Barakah Food Aid also paid their respects with a Facebook post stating, “Tamby had helped us a few years ago, and to find out this has happened to her, and leaving behind 6 children… just heartbreaking.”

Police say enquiries remain ongoing in connection to the killing and anyone with information is asked to contact the force as soon as possible.
